Zoning
Amending the Alternative Energy Section of the Zoning Ordinance.
The motion was made to Amend the Alternative Energy Section of the Zoning Ordinance
To include the phrase “as defined by the state, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania”.
The motion was passed. The amended document, after submission and review by the solicitor, will be available at the July Meeting of the Board of Supervisors.
There was also discussion of the surface issue. There have been questions about the scope of the regulation, such as “does this include just panels, or the whole farm?” “Is this consistent with established practice?” Ed Langareene Damascus Twp said in part, “Storm water calculations assume that streams and ponds are already fulled with water. In a storm situation, each drop creates overflow”. The possible scope of the water run-off for this project, for a project of this size, makes this storm water calculations appropriate.
State regs for this type of project include this kind of calculation. “Pervious vs non- pervious is always calculated by the engineer. State law requires calculation for building projects so that there are no additions to ground water.”
Anonymous Letter received, complaining about junk on a property.
The letter-writer was apparently uninformed. The property in question is an auto repair shop. The junk ordinance does not apply to registered.car repair businesses. A phone call to the Damascus Township would have cleared the matter up in five minutes.
